Mooloolaba Outriggers are proud to announce: The Inaugural Whale Run Challenge.
Saturday 7th September 2019
Courses will be a 49Km Changeover Race from Bribie Surf Club to Mooloolaba Bay
There will be 3 races on the day:
- Race 1, will be 49km changeover race from Bribie Island Surf Club to Mooloolaba Bay. Each crew will need to organise their own support boat for this event.
- Race 2, will be a Minnows/U12 with a beach changeover – the course will be 4 laps of a 1km course.
- Race 3, will be a 20km changeover for all divisions – 8 laps of a 2.5km course with beach changeover or in water, whatever the crew feels most comfortable doing. This will be a great opportunity for those who haven’t done a changeover race before to do it in a safe environment.
There will be modest monetary prizes and a perpetual trophy for the winners of the 49km changeover race.
REGISTRATION:
- Starts Friday 6th September 4:00 – 6:00 PM with Race Briefing at 6:00 PM at Mooloolaba OCC . Saturday 7 September 6.00 – 7.00am at Bribie Surf club.
- Food will be available on Friday night 6th September at Mooloolaba compound.
- All nominations must register online at www.aocra.com.au before midnight on 31 August 2019
- NON AOCRA International paddlers must complete the International Indemnity Form and bring to Registration.

RACE FEES
- Whale Challenge Changeover 49km $65 per paddler per race – All Senior Paddlers $50 per paddler per race – All Junior Paddlers
- Mooloolaba Beach Changeover 20km $50 per paddler per race – All Senior Paddlers $30 per paddler per race – All Junior Paddlers
- Mooloolaba Beach Changeover 4km $25 per paddler per race – All Junior Paddlers
- Includes a race shirt that must be worn on the day.
WHALE RUN BUS:
- A bus will be available for paddlers from Mooloolaba to Bribie Island Surf Club at 5am sharp on Saturday morning. The cost is $15 and is to be prepaid by using the PayPal link below.
